We have only recently been alerted to the fact that the Bodleian Library in Oxford has created an online virtual exhibition of key material relating to the Rubaiyat.  Under the general heading of Masterpieces of the non-Western book, there are digital version of three of the Library’s Rubaiyat  treasures, namely the Ousely 140 Persian manuscript of 1460, the first edition of FitzGerald’s English version from 1859, and, perhaps even more interesting, FitzGerald’s personal copy of the Ouseley MS made by him from the Cowell copy that he was given in 1856.  The latter item has many annotations and notes by FitzGerald which deserve further study.

The virtual exhibition was set up to mark the Rubaiyat and FitzGerald anniversaries in 2009.  It can be accessed from the following link http://www.odl.ox.ac.uk/digitalimagelibrary/oriental_exhibition.html
